For the first time in almost 10 years, Liverpool need to look for a new manager.
Jurgen Klopp has announced that he’s leaving at the end of the season, and the club will undoubtedly be rocked by this decision.
Once the dust has settled, attention will turn towards who should replace Klopp, and there is one standout candidate in the field.

Alonso would be a fantastic option for Liverpool, and he’d also be attainable.
Indeed, while Alonso is doing a fantastic job with Leverkusen right now, there is a clause in his contract that would allow him to take over from Klopp.
It was reported back in October that Alonso actually has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave Leverkusen and join any of the three elite clubs he used to play for – Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and, crucially, Liverpool.
Alonso has a device in his contract that would allow him to join Liverpool, and the Reds would be fools not to take up this option.
Alonso has all the makings of a superstar manager. He’s already showing that at Bayer Leverkusen, and his pedigree is second-to-none.
Having been managed by Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho and Rafa Benitez during his playing career, Alonso’s football IQ should be through the roof as he’s taken on so many influences from so many great figures during his time in the game.
Replacing Klopp will be an almost impossible task, but when one of the brightest managers in Europe has a release clause that directly says he can join your club, that’s certainly an avenue worth exploring.
