Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch wasn’t letting injury stop his celebrations tonight.
What a colossal effort from Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Liverpool headed into the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea with a long, long list of injured star players.
Klopp ended the game with a raft of teenagers on the pitch, up against a Chelsea squad which cost millions upon millions to assemble.
Liverpool didn’t back down though and found the killer moment with Virgil van Dijk burying a header with mere moments of extra time left to play.
Reds fans everywhere will be so proud of the effort shown and the quest for a treble in Klopp’s final season in charge continue…
Ryan Gravenberch on crutches
Liverpool supporters probably thought a bank was being played on them when midfielder Ryan Gravenberch was stretchered off in the first half.
Klopp was already down to the bare bones and seeing Gravenberch go down under a nasty challenge from Moises Caicedo just seemed to compound the misery.
Gravenberch went off and Klopp will now be fearing a lay-off for the Dutchman, but Gravenberch wasn’t going to let that injury stop him.
CBS Sports reporter James Benge has posted a video on X showing Gravenberch on the field to celebrate with his Liverpool teammates whilst on crutches.
Gravenberch’s use of those crutches was a little baffling but he wanted to be part of the celebrations, heading straight towards Van Dijk for a celebratory embrace.
The £34million summer signing from Bayern Munich will hope to be back in action soon but was also seen wearing a protective boot on his left foot.
Dominik Szoboszlai’s absence handed Gravenberch a chance but his cup final was cut short in cruel fashion.
Klopp hardly needs another injury to deal with but it’s all about celebrating tonight with Liverpool adding another trophy to the cabinet in the Klopp era.
