Liverpool and Arsenal have been incredible in the Premier League since the start of this season.

The Gunners are currently on top of the league table, while Jurgen Klopp‘s side are level on points with the North Londoners but in second place because of goal difference.

One of Arsenal or Liverpool could go on and win the Premier League title this season, but irrespective of what happens, both sides will need to strengthen their squads in the summer.

One player Liverpool have been heavily linked with has been in amazing form recently – he has been even better than Arsenal duo Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.

Liverpool target is the most-in-form player in Europe’s top-five leagues

Liverpool’s priority at the moment is to appoint a new manager.

Jurgen Klopp will step down from his position at the end of this season, and Michael Edwards has been brought in to find his successor.

New signings will not happen until a new manager is announced, but Liverpool continue to be linked with a number of players ahead of the summer window.

Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala is one of them, and the Germany international is currently the most in-form player in Europe’s top-five leagues.

In his last five games for Bayern in the Bundesliga, Musiala, 21, has scored five goals and provided four assists. That is an incredible return, which is why he tops the charts with a score of 8.70 on WhoScored.

That’s higher than Arsenal quartet Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard.

Musiala’s contract situation gives Liverpool hope

Bayern Munich have been desperate to tie Jamal Musiala down to a new contract, but they are yet to wrap up that deal.

The German will enter the final two years of his contract this summer, and although Bayern have made it a priority to keep him, talks haven’t progressed.

That gives hope to all the interested parties ahead of the summer transfer window, including Liverpool, whose new manager would surely love to make a statement signing.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with Musiala in the coming months. If he doesn’t sign a new contract, Bayern may have to consider selling him this summer.
