Trent Alexander-Arnold made Premier League history today as Liverpool recorded a win over Burnley.
Goals from Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez handed the Reds a 3-1 victory over the Clarets.
So, what did Trent Alexander-Arnold achieve for Liverpool against Burnley? Let’s take a look…
Alexander-Arnold makes Premier League history
Well, the Liverpool No.66 has now registered more assists than any other defender in Premier League history.
Alexander-Arnold had been tied with Liverpool teammate Andy Robertson on 57 Premier League assists heading into today’s clash against Burnley.
However, after the England international swung a corner in for Jota to put Liverpool 1-0 up, he has now edged ahead of the Scotland international to officially become the most creative defender in Premier League history.
It took Alexander-Arnold 219 Premier League appearances to smash the record.
To achieve such a remarkable feat at the age of just 25 takes some doing.
Furthermore, Alexander-Arnold arguably has a decade remaining at the highest level, so he could extend his record to an unreachable number before he hangs up his boots.
Say what you want about the Liverpudlian’s defensive abilities – Steve Nicol certainly has – but there are few better on the planet when it comes to creating chances.
Liverpool must consider Alexander-Arnold when hiring Klopp replacement
Interestingly, Alexander-Arnold has never worked with any manager other than Jürgen Klopp in his senior club career, and with the German set to depart this summer, Liverpool must take that into account when searching for a replacement.

Hopefully, Fenway Sports Group can find someone who enables Alexander-Arnold to keep producing the goods at Anfield, as the £192,000-a-week man has done for so many years now.
