Lucy Parry says the squad are determined to make it to the FA Cup Final.

Liverpool have had a bit of a stop-start campaign this season. Injuries, in particular, have hit Matt Beard’s side hard. Lucy Parry is one player making their way back to the pitch after a lengthy spell on the trainers table and it should be no surprise that the team’s results have picked up. Two wins on the bounce - both against West Ham United, once in the league and once in the FA Cup - have the Reds rightly feeling better.

With the Reds set to face Rugby Borough in the Fifth Round of the FA Cup in a few short hours, Parry spoke to the official site about how it felt to be back on the pitch and the club’s focus ahead of their FA Cup tie.

“It’s really good to be back. It’s been a tough few months but just being back on the grass with the team is a great feeling and I just want to play my part and do all I can to help the team.”

When discussing the FA Cup, here’s what the defender had to say about the club’s ambitions:

“We want to go all the way to the final. We always take it game by game and we will continue to do so and we just want to put a good performance in. There is a lot to play for between now and the end of the season. There is a lot of games left to play and we are looking to build week on week. Training is competitive and everyone is looking to get into the team and I think that’s really good we’ve got the competition.”

Liverpool have work to do to try and pull something positive out of the league season - they’re currently 7th in the table, level on points with Everton but ahead on goal difference. But with players like Parry hopefully soon to return, there’s some hope that they may have just enough to try and make the end of the season interesting.
