Trent Kone-Doherty was a late substitute during Liverpool’s 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Plymouth on Sunday afternoon after a number of impressive displays for the club’s youth sides.
The 18-year-old was back in action today for the Reds’ U19 side against Stuttgart in the UEFA Youth League.
The teenager registered a goal and assist as Barry Lewtas’ side came from 2-0 down to take the tie to a penalty shootout where they were narrowly edged out by the German outfit.
Kone-Doherty can be proud of his contribution however, which included a stunning strike from just inside the area. The ‘keeper had absolutely no chance with the effort.
If the youngster can continue doing what he’s doing then we’re sure we’ll be seeing him again soon at senior level.
The future is looking bright for the Ireland youth international.
